Alex Glucina, Kiwi/Croatian, West Auckland. I’m an amateur musician, tennis player and professional cinematographer.

I have a passion for shooting, making images and being part of the creative process. I love collaborating with people to find the right visual language for a project and making work that I’m proud of.

I started in the film industry many shoots ago, working in the camera department as a clapper loader, back when shooting on film was still a thing. I was lucky enough to work on shows such as Spartacus, which introduced me to some of New Zealand’s finest camera people.

Alongside my work as a cinematographer, I’ve spent much of my career working as a camera operator on a variety of shows and movies. Some of the most notable are Ash vs Evil Dead (3 seasons), Don’t Make Me Go (feature film), the Emmy-winning Sweet Tooth (3 seasons), and most recently Heart of the Beast, starring Brad Pitt.

That experience has taken me onto some pretty big sets and given me the opportunity to work alongside some incredible DPs, operators and camera crews. I now bring that experience into my cinematography work.
